CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program

  • The CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program, in collaboration with BC Hydro and FortisBC, offers rebates for homeowners upgrading to eligible heat pump systems.
  • Rebate amounts vary based on household income, the type of existing heating system being replaced, and the new heat pump system installed:​
  • Please note that rebates for homes converting from natural gas, oil, wood, or propane to an all-electric heat pump ended on April 11, 2025.
  • However, you may still be eligible to apply if the work was completed or quotes were received before this date.

Applications must be submitted within six months of the invoice date or by August 31, 2025, whichever comes first.​

CleanBC Better Homes Energy Savings Program

  • The Income Qualified Program has been expanded to include more BC households.
  • With the new moniker Energy Savings Program, the expanded offerings include up to $16,000 in fossil fuel to electric heat pump rebates and up to $5000 in electrical panel and power upgrades.

FortisBC Dual-fuel Ducted Heat Pump Rebate

  • Keep the benefits and reliability of natural gas while adding the modern energy-efficiency of a heat pump, with up to $5,000 in Dual Fuel rebates available through FortisBC.

City of Nanaimo Home Energy Retrofit Financing Program

  • Nanaimo homeowners can take advantage of zero-interest loans up to $15,000 for heating and cooling system upgrades.
  • The City of Nanaimo is opening limited applications to their Zero-Interest Loans starting April 1, 2025 and closing May 15, 2025

BC Hydro Rebates

Canada Greener Homes Grant

  • The Federal Government has announced changes to its Canada Greener Homes Grant and is no longer accepting applications after February 12, 2024.
  • If you’ve already completed the online registration and have an application number, you’re encouraged to proceed with your retrofits and will still be eligible for funding and support.

    The $40,000, 0% interest Canada Greener Homes loan and oil to heat pump rebates are still available.
